Luke 5:12
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.


LUKE 15:20 So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him


1) THE EMBRACE OF THE FATHER SPEAKS VALUE


Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?


VALUE: the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.



Ephesians 2:10 (NIV): 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

2) THE HEART OF THE FATHER BRINGS CORRECTION

Hebrews 12:4–13 (NIV):
It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”

11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. 12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.


Proverbs 3:11-12 (The Passion Translation)
11My child, when the Lord God speaks to you, never take his words lightly, and never be upset when he corrects you. 12 For the Father’s discipline comes only
from his passionate love and pleasure for you. Even when it seems like his correction is harsh, it’s still better than any father on earth gives to his child.


Job 5:17
“Blessed is the one whom God corrects;
so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
